Tolman Cousins!

Dean Tolman, Tom Tolman, Tracie Tolman Turner
My parents and I had the privilege of going to Bountiful Cemetery for their pioneer walk through. They had selected several pioneer graves and had people, some family members, represent them and tell of their life. I was so excited to bring my Dad, Dean. He has always told us how strong our Tolman Ancestors are. We are double line Tolman. Parley Lambert Tolman married Lydia Vilate Tolman. My dad knew quite a bit about his Grandpa Parley's side but not much about his Grandma Vilates. It was amazing being there with him and my mom learning about our wonderful ancestors Judson and Sarah Lucretia Holbrook Tolman. Along with Joseph and Hannah Flint Holbrook. Jaren and Sarah Jane Burningham Tolman. To hear him say as we were leaving that he never knew that he had such a strong pioneer history made me so happy.

We also had the privilege of meeting a distant cousin Tom Tolman who works so hard each year to set this up. Thank you Tom, I can't wait to see you again next year. And to all my Tolman cousins, it is well worth the drive for the history you will learn and people you will meet!

Clarence Devan Tolman 10/19/1923-08/19/2003

It has been ten years since I last saw your smiling face.
You told me you were going home, asked if I wanted to go.
If only I knew then how true those word would be.
It feels like yesterday and yet also a lifetime ago.
I miss you very much!

I miss your smile,
I miss seeing you make Grandma smile too.
I miss the way you would sing my name
But most of all I miss
having a picture with you at my wedding
seeing you play with my children
they would love you so.

for being such a wonderful example
of what a loving Husband is
a loving Father is
a loving Grandfather is
a loving Great Grandfather is

Thank you Grandpa
for raising up such wonderful children
for being stalwart in the Gospel
for never letting us doubt your love for us
for the special blessing of Families are Forever

And though I cannot see you
I know you are always near
Thank you for letting me know
You are Proud of me.

There is nothing I want more
Than to make you proud
everyday of my life.
I love you.
